Dexcel Pharma CetiDex 10mg 20 – Relief of nasal and ocular symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, relief of chronic urticaria (chronic idiopathic urticaria).
The medicine should not be used:
– in case of hypersensitivity to cetirizine, other structurally related substances (hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives) or any of the other ingredients of the drug,
– if you have severe kidney disease (severe renal impairment with creatinine clearance below 10 ml / min).
Adults and adolescents over 12 years old
Recommended dose: 10 mg once a day, 1 tablet
Children aged 6 to 12 years
Recommended dose: 5 mg twice a day, half a tablet twice a day
Patients with moderate renal impairment are recommended to take 5 mg once a day.
The length of time you take it depends on the type, duration, and progression of your symptoms.
After an overdose, the following side effects may occur, such as confusion, diarrhea, dizziness, tiredness, headache, malaise, dilated pupils, itching, restlessness, sedation, drowsiness, lightheadedness, rapid heartbeat, tremor, and urinary retention.
If you forget to take it
Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.
If you stop taking it
If you stop taking it, pruritus (severe itching) and/or urticaria (hives) may return in rare cases.
Pregnancy
Cetirizine should be avoided by pregnant women. Accidental ingestion by pregnant women is not expected to cause harm to the fetus.
Breastfeeding
Cetirizine passes into breast milk. Breastfed infants may experience adverse reactions associated with cetirizine. Therefore, cetirizine should not be taken while breastfeeding.
The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid.
