Lora-ADGC 50 is an antihistamine used to treat the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (such as hay fever) and chronic idiopathic urticaria (rash of unknown cause).
Do not take this medicine
if you are allergic to loratadine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
The recommended dose is
Adults and children over 12 years
1 tablet once daily (equivalent to 10 mg loratadine).
No dosage adjustment is required in elderly patients (over 65 years) or in patients with impaired renal function.
Children 2 to 12 years
Weight over 30 kg: 1 tablet once daily (equivalent to 10 mg loratadine).
Weight 30 kg or less: ½ tablet once daily (equivalent to 5 mg loratadine).
The safety and effectiveness of this medicine in children under 2 years of age have not been established.
Patients with severe liver dysfunction
Adults and children over 30 kg: Initial dose: 1 tablet every 2 days.
Children 30 kg or less: Initial dose: ½ tablet every 2 days.
If you forget to take it
Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose. If you forget to take a tablet on time, take it as soon as possible. .
This medicine should be stopped at least 48 hours before the skin test, as antihistamines like this one may otherwise prevent or weaken positive reactions to the skin test.
The safety and effectiveness of this medicine in children under 2 years of age have not been established.
ability to drive and operate machines
In clinical studies examining the ability to drive a car, no impairment was found in patients taking loratadine. When taken at the recommended dose, the drug should not cause drowsiness or decreased alertness.
However, very rarely, some people experience dizziness, which may affect their ability to drive or operate machinery.
As a precaution, avoid taking the drug during pregnancy. Do not take this medicine if you are breastfeeding. Loratadine passes into breast milk.
The tablets can be taken regardless of food intake.
Taking with other drugs
Side effects may increase when the drug is used simultaneously with drugs that change the activity of certain liver enzymes responsible for metabolism. However, in clinical studies, no increase in side effects was observed when loratadine was used simultaneously with drugs that change the activity of these enzymes.
