Allergospray 10ml is an antiallergic/antihistamine.
The active substance is azelastine hydrochloride, suitable for the local treatment of allergic symptoms on the nasal mucosa. The effect occurs quickly and lasts for several hours.
Allergospray is used for the symptomatic treatment of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and for the treatment of perennial allergic rhinitis (year-round allergic rhinitis).
You cannot use Allergospray nasal spray,
if you are allergic to azelastine hydrochloride or any other ingredient of this medicine
Allergospray should not get into your eyes. If you accidentally spray the solution into your eyes, rinse your eyes with plenty of water.
Do not use Allergospray if you have a cold, flu-like infection or influenza.
It should be noted that alcohol and drugs that affect the central nervous system can increase the side effects of Allergospray. This may lead to increased fatigue, dizziness and a feeling of tiredness.
Simultaneous administration of gastric acid blockers (cimetidine) increases the concentration of azelastine hydrochloride in the blood.
Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages when taking drugs containing azelastine.
Allergospray should not be used during pregnancy (especially during the first three months of pregnancy), should not be used during breastfeeding.
When using Allergospray, symptoms such as fatigue, tiredness, exhaustion, dizziness or weakness very rarely occur, which can also be caused by the course of the disease. In these cases, the ability to drive a vehicle and operate machinery may be impaired. In particular, it should be noted that alcohol can further impair competitiveness.
The recommended dose for adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over is 1 spray per nostril once or twice daily (morning and evening) (equivalent to 0.28 mg – 0.56 mg azelastine hydrochloride/day).
Elderly patients (≥ 65 years):
In clinical trials of Allergospray nasal spray, no increase in the incidence of adverse reactions was observed in elderly patients.
If you forget to use Allergospray nasal spray,
No special measures are required. Continue therapy at the same dosage at the next scheduled time. If necessary, you can also use Allergospray between two scheduled intervals.
Side effects
Nervous system disorders (common), bitter taste, usually due to improper use (tilting the head), (very rare) dizziness.
Immune system disorders: (very rare) hypersensitivity reactions. Diseases of the respiratory tract, chest: (rarely) irritation of the already inflamed nasal mucosa (burning, tingling), sneezing, nosebleeds.
